Global Health

Worldwide non-communicable chronic conditions and disability remain substantial causes of the global burden of disease. Concurrently, the COVID-19 pandemic has reminded us, if of nothing else, that we live in a globalized community. From limited access and fragmented care, to scarcely available adult services, many are the challenges that besiege those living with disability worldwide. Thus, to provide inclusion and active involvement from all affected communities, innovative approaches will be required, such as global virtual learning collaborations and open access journals. In recent years, the Journal of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine (JPRM) has emerged as an open access global platform for the publication and dissemination of pace-setting research. It can be trusted that the commentaries and original research published in JPRM and collected here will continue to serve as a catalyst for thoughtful investigation in order to improve the care among the diverse and affected global communities.
